Snowland Panama Cancels Event But There Will Be Refunds
According to the press release, the decision was made prioritizing the safety and overall experience of attendees and fulfilling promises. Following customer complaints and a visit from the Consumer Protection and Competition Defense Authority (ACODECO), Snowland Panama announced the definitive cancellation of its event. According to the press release, the decision was made prioritizing the safety and overall experience of attendees and fulfilling what was promised. According to the company, the goal was always “to offer a real, well-executed experience that lived up to what was advertised.”
Snowland Panama stated that significant and verifiable investments were made during the setup for the event; these included the general infrastructure, ski ramp, cold room with guaranteed ice, technical equipment and specialized assembly, contracts with national and international suppliers, and an ice skating rink. He explained that the ice rink could not be operational on the opening date due to delays beyond the organization’s control, so the current organization is in the process of refunding the money invested.
He also indicated that the ice-crushing room was an investment that had already been made, but it was not ready for the opening date, which affected the experience. Furthermore, the company reiterated that refunds will be handled in an “orderly, responsible and transparent” manner. “Each customer will be contacted individually to confirm their case and the corresponding procedure,” the statement adds.
