The Order was Given from Prison: Eduardo Sánchez Remains in Custody for Double Murder in Caimitillo

The hearing revealed that the order to commit the crime had been issued from prison and that escape routes had been planned to deliver the drugs to “El Gordo.” At this point, the discussion turned to Sánchez, who would drive the motorcycle.

A judge ordered the provisional detention of Eduardo Sánchez, the motorcycle driver and main accomplice in the double homicide of a man who was doing community work and the National Police captain, José Isaza.  At the hearing held this Sunday, he was charged with aggravated intentional homicide and illicit association to commit crimes as a primary accomplice. Since there were two victims, the charges were doubled.  Sánchez identified himself as a self-employed worker who provided services for an online food and transportation platform.


He also stated that he is well-known in the Cerro Batea area, where he lives. It was also learned that he offered welding and painting services.  “I am clear that I am going to pay for what I did,” said Eduardo Sánchez, the alleged driver of the motorcycle that transported the hitman who ended the lives of two citizens.   It was also learned that he offered welding and painting services. Furthermore, it was added that he has no family in Panama.  Among the evidence used against him were five compact discs, more than 20 photographs, and 93 videos showing a heavyset man before, during, and after the incident. The case file also contains statements from several witnesses who identified Sánchez. 


According to preliminary investigations, the primary target of the attack was the civilian who was performing community service at the time of the incident. Authorities also revealed that the attackers were traveling on a motorcycle equipped with GPS. This was found at the time of their arrest.  The hearing also revealed that the order to commit the crime had been issued from prison and that escape routes had been planned to deliver the drugs to “El Gordo.” At this point, the discussion turned to Sánchez, who would drive the motorcycle.   The hitman’s whereabouts remain unknown, and search forces are actively working to capture him. Eduardo reportedly revealed his destination during questioning.
