Panama’s Black Friday: More Police: More Control: Zero Tolerance for Disruption

There will be more patrols, more surveillance, and more eyes watching the flow of people, especially during peak hours.

With Black Friday less than a week away, shopping malls across the country are already in full swing. This isn’t just because of the sales, but because they know the aisles will be packed to the brim on that day. That’s why this year they’ve decided to reinforce their logistics and security.  The management of several malls has been finalizing details with the National Police, who will add more officers inside and outside the shopping centers to maintain order. There will be more patrols, increased surveillance, and more people monitoring the flow of shoppers, especially during peak hours.

In addition, stores have already started promoting their big deals, and people have their eyes on household appliances, which usually see price drops.  Meanwhile, Acodeco announced that starting Monday it will begin operations to verify that the offers are real and that the information provided to consumers is clear and not in small print that could be misleading. They also reminded everyone that even if a product is on sale, the warranty remains a warranty, and businesses have to respond if something is defective.  With all that gear in place, the message is clear: this Black Friday is going to be hectic, but the goal is for it to be safe and well-organized, without anyone losing their mind or patience.
