Panama Was Forced to Postpone the 2025 Baseball Americas Cup
The dream of seeing the America’s baseball tournament on Panamanian soil will have to wait due to international disagreements. The Panamanian baseball team had been preparing for the tournament for several weeks.
The Americas Baseball Cup, scheduled to be held in Panama from November 13 to 22, 2025, was officially postponed by decision of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Americas, due to contractual disagreements with the international promoting company of the event. The Panamanian Sports Institute (Pandeportes) announced in a statement that these issues are preventing them from meeting the established deadlines for the tournament.
Furthermore, they clarified that Panama was not the organizer of the championship, but rather the host country, responsible for ensuring logistics, security, public services, and state support. The National Government, through Pandeportes and the Panamanian Baseball Federation, had allocated a significant financial contribution to prepare the national team and ensure the necessary conditions for the event.
“We deeply regret that the Panama 2025 Baseball Americas Cup cannot be held on the scheduled date; however, we are working with the WBSC Americas to define a new date.” the institution stated.
