Alto Boquete Panama – It is said that a 16 year old boy tried to stab a woman to death when entering her home in Villa de Alto Boquete, located on the road to Caldera in the province of Chiriquí, Friday October 31st. The teenager who is now in provisional detention and faces charges for the crime against life and personal integrity in the form of attempted aggravated femicide— entered the victim’s home with a knife in his hand and stabbed her in the thigh, back and hand, all on the right side of the body.  The trail of blood found in the living room by the National Police units, who responded to the emergency call around 9:00 am, revealed the brutality of the attack, suggesting that the minor really wanted to kill the woman.

The officers did not find the victim at her home, as she had been rushed by family members to the Rafael Hernández Regional Hospital in David after the attack, where she remains hospitalized. However, following a police operation in the area, the assailant was located and apprehended.  This Saturday, the minor was presented before a judge of guarantees for Childhood and Adolescence, who declared his arrest legal, accepted the formal charges and applied the most severe precautionary measure.
