The Mayor’s Office of the District of Panama put a stop to noisy and dancing activities on November 2, the day that marks the Day of the Dead.  The Mayoral Decree establishes that from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the use of musical instruments, music boxes, and orchestras, as well as any activity that generates noise in the district, is prohibited.  The measure seeks to ensure that families visiting cemeteries can pay tribute to their loved ones with respect and civility.

Those who fail to comply may be fined between $100.00 and $1,000.00, and municipal inspectors, police, and community judges will be on hand to enforce the rule, even with the support of law enforcement if necessary.  The Mayor’s Office asked citizens for moderation, respect and empathy, remembering that this day is to honor those who served the country and humanity. November 2nd 2025 is a Sunday.
