Panama Province of Chiriquí | A Family Was Robbed and Ended Up Stuck in a Tree

After a police chase, two bandits were arrested.

A robbery of a family traveling in their vehicle in Loma Colorada in the city of David, ended in an intense police chase that extended to the district of Alanje, province of Chiriquí, resulting in a traffic accident and the capture of two of the alleged perpetrators.  According to initial reports, the suspects intercepted the victims in another vehicle and robbed them, stealing credit cards, cell phones, and other belongings. However, a call alerted police, who immediately responded to the scene. The criminals fled in a vehicle, leading to a chase. 


During the escape, the suspects crashed the car in the David area, evaded a checkpoint, but continued their escape until reaching the center of Alanje, where they crashed into some trees, abandoned the car and fled on foot.  At the scene, authorities arrested two of the four individuals, while the other two remain under investigation.  A strong operation is being maintained in the sector with the participation of the National Police and the Public Ministry, who are carrying out checkpoints and patrols at different points to find the fugitives.  The competent authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the incident and determine the responsibility of those involved.
