Central Americans Supporting the Chinese Communist Party have their US Visa’s Blocked

The State Department announced that Central American citizens who collaborate with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to undermine the rule of law will be barred from entering the U.S., including their family members.  According to the statement, citizens who, while in their home countries, direct, finance, or support activities that destabilize justice and institutions will be prohibited from entering the United States.  “The United States is determined to counter China’s corrupting influence in Central America and stop its attempts to subvert the rule of law,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Rubio also noted that these restrictions are already being applied to “several Central American citizens who have previously participated in such activities.”  “This measure reinforces the U.S. administration’s commitment to protecting security and economic prosperity in the hemisphere and promoting accountability for those who collaborate with the CCP to influence Central America.”  These restrictions are implemented pursuant to Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and are in addition to other U.S. tools to ensure the protection of the region from outside influences.
