The Ports of Balboa and Cristobal in Panama and Other CK Hutchison Terminals have Interested French Shipping Company CMA CGM

Shipping company CMA CGM is entering the fray in its bid to acquire part of CK Hutchison’s port business, a negotiation that until last Sunday had been exclusively offered by a consortium led by BlackRock.

The chess match continues with Panama’s ports being the main prize at the end of the day.  The port market is closely following the renewed negotiations to acquire the 43 ports owned by the Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison, including the operations of the Panamanian terminals Balboa and Cristóbal, managed by the Panama Ports Company.  Since the initial agreement has not been finalized, the French shipping company CMA CGM has now entered the scene of these negotiations.  Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the finish line and what companies will be taking home the prizes.
