‘I’m a Little Sore But on the Way to Recovery’ – Ricardo Martinelli in Colombia

The president of the Realizing Goals party has been in Colombia since May 10, where he arrived after the government granted him political asylum.

Former Panama President Ricardo Martinelli announced that he has been discharged after his hernia surgery, which he underwent Friday July 18.  Saturday, the former president posted a photo and a short message reiterating that everything went well with the surgery.

Former President Ricardo Martinelli is progressing satisfactorily, four days after undergoing hernia surgery.  Doctor Alberto Reyes reported that the recovery is progressing very well. “We corrected a large defect in the abdominal wall. The wound is small, and the progress is excellent,” the doctor explained.  The former president appears in good spirits and thanked Reyes for the careful procedure.  Once he recovers, the businessman will have to return to the operating room to treat his spinal discomfort.  Martinelli previously reported that more than thirty screws must be replaced following a botched procedure in Panama.  He expressed that asylum in Colombia has allowed him to address his health problems and thus avoid putting his life at risk.
