2 People Arrested and a Firearm Seized in Chiriqui Province Panama – 123 Others in Other Provinces

The National Police, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, conducted a search and seizure operation in the district of David, Chiriquí province, resulting in the arrest of two people. During the operation, authorities seized a replica firearm, suspected illicit substances, ammunition, a digital scale, and other items. Likewise, at other points during the same operation, several fireworks and explosive devices were seized, which were allegedly used in the area to attack police units. The National Police reiterates its commitment to citizen security and will continue to carry out these types of actions to combat criminal activity and ensure national security.
A busy weekend for the police. As part of the Firmness Plan, the National Police arrested 125 people in the last 24 hours. Of these, 82 were arrested on official business, 14 for administrative offenses, 19 in flagrante delicto, and 10 for micro-trafficking. 73 search warrants were carried out, five firearms, 131 rounds of ammunition, B/.7,123 in cash were seized, and three vehicles were recovered. In traffic matters, 997 tickets were issued, of which 143 were for speeding, 70 for improper lights, 11 for expired licenses, seven for proven drunkenness, and five for talking on a cell phone. Twenty-two vehicles were towed for various reasons.
