Panama: Pan American artistic gymnastics will experience a historic moment from June 12 to 15, 2025, when Panama hosts the Adult Pan American Championship, a crucial event for athletes on the continent. Not only will it qualify for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, but it will also take the first step towards the big event in Los Angeles 2028. The Panamanian Gymnastics Federation (FPG), together with the Pan American Gymnastics Union (UPAG), has worked intensively to ensure a flawless organization. This tournament will not only test the best gymnasts in the Americas, but will also introduce a technological innovation: the debut of the FIG-approved CANNICE apparatus on Panamanian soil.
Carlos Herrera, president of the Panamanian Gymnastics Federation, highlighted the importance of the event: “This is historic, it is a great challenge for gymnastics in Panama and transcendental for Panamanian sport.” The competition will be held at the Atlapa Convention Center, which has been equipped with competition and training areas, ensuring optimal conditions for the athletes. Panama, which has already excelled at the Olympic Games, World Championships, and other elite events, thus strengthens its position as a high-level venue and a driving force for sports in the region. With this Pan American Games, the country is not only seeking qualifications and records, but also inspiring new generations of gymnasts, demonstrating that Latin America is ready to compete at the world elite.
