A Man Linked to the Kidnapping of Dayra Caicedo has been Arrested
The arrest took place in the area of Parque Lefreve, according to the Attorney General’s Office

The Primary Care Section of Arraiján during a search, together with the National Police arrested a man allegedly linked to the robbery and deprivation of liberty of a young woman Dayra Caicedo, an event that occurred February 19, 2025, in Vista Alegre. The arrest took place in the Parque Lefreve area, as reported by the Attorney General’s Office on its X account. Dayra Caicedo, a 23-year-old law student, was kidnapped when she arrived at her residence in the Mayín neighborhood, located in Vista Alegre de Arraiján, province of Panamá Oeste. According to family testimonies, the incident occurred around 9:45 pm, when the young woman was returning from the university located in Panama, where she is in her fourth year of law school.

When she parked her vehicle in front of her home, she was intercepted by more than three armed people, who forced her to get into the back of the car. Caicedo’s parents, alerted by the cries for help, left their residence, but were threatened with a firearm by the criminals, who forced them not to intervene. The incident was recorded on the area’s security cameras. Authorities have begun the corresponding investigations, while the family asks the public to provide any information about Dayra’s whereabouts, for which they have enabled the telephone numbers 6746-4896 and 6861-5274. They emphasize that the last time she was seen, the young woman was wearing black pants and a white shirt with green as shown above. Police are also looking for a person of interest, Oldemar Alexis Forth Moya, shown below in the picture on your left, in connection with the kidnapping.
