Lane Reversal Operation For Mother’s Day Long Weekend. When and How Will it Work?

Panama City: Carlos Almanza, lieutenant of the National Police Traffic Operations Directorate, confirmed that this weekend there will be lane reversals due to the long weekend corresponding to the celebrations for Mother’s Day in the country.  The lane reversal operation will take place starting at 6:00 am, from the Nazareno sector in the La Chorrera district to Campana. Afterwards, it will continue from Sajalices to the San José sector. During the weekend, the National Police’s Traffic Operations Directorate will deploy around 70 officers, who will be located at important points in order to guide drivers and speed up vehicular traffic. On Monday, December 9, drivers will be returning, so the lane reversal will be implemented, starting at 10:00 am from the San José sector to Sajalices and then continuing from Campana to the El Nazareno sector.  The operation will continue until 6:00 p.m. This Friday, the investment will continue from 2:30 p.m., starting from the Agricultural Development Bank to the Burunga sector.  Almanza reminded drivers to practice tolerance, respect the established speed limits and avoid drinking alcohol, and if you are going to drive, consider having a designated driver to avoid being involved in a traffic accident.  “If you have just finished work, it is best to rest before embarking on a journey of this distance,” said Lieutenant Almanza.
