The La Chorrera Viaduct is Opened
It’s official. The new La Chorrera viaduct, in the province of Panama Oeste, was officially opened Tuesday, September 3 at approximately 9:00 am with a symbolic act by the authorities. Drivers immediately began using this important six-lane highway: three to the city and three to the central provinces. This viaduct is in the La Pesa sector.
According to the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), work will continue on the La Chorrera interchange and the rehabilitation of the existing road in the lower part of the viaduct. Those who live or travel through the shops in the La Espiga area to La Pesa de La Chorrera will have one lane enabled in each direction, as well as the current return lane in front of the Delta station in La Pesa. The road is 1.7 kilometers long and is being built at a cost of 282 million dollars.
