AI, Influence Marketing, and Influencers, Are On the Rise
A new wave of marketing has been on the rise over the past decade using AI and personalities called influencers and influence marketing. You will not only see this in products and services for rent or sale, but in election campaigns around the world. The American Marketing Association says that influencer marketing “focuses on leveraging individuals who have influence over potential buyers and orienting marketing activities around these individuals to convey a brand message to the broader market.” Statista defines it simply as “a form of social media marketing that involves product placement and recommendations from online creators.” Data from the same source shows that from $1.7 billion spent in 2016 on influencer marketing, the figure rose exponentially to $24 billion by 2024, showing a 1311.76% increase over the past eight years.
