In Chiriqui, the Dr. José Félix Espinoza Barroso Hospital is Restarting

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, paid a visit Friday, August 30, to the Dr. José Félix Espinoza Barroso Hospital project in Bugaba, province of Chiriqui.  The president criticized the previous administration for “abandoning” these hospital facilities.  He said that what was done with the hospitals was “criminal.” “I wish there was a penalty because, as I said, this is embezzlement in reverse. They used state money to abandon it and leave it lying around here.”  He explained that this and other hospitals are not a luxury. They are needs that the people have.  He hopes that it will be delivered in December 2025. “I hope to come next December and that this will be my gift as a Bugabé citizen to inaugurate this hospital.”  For Mulino, it is unacceptable that as governors they would allow for trees to be growing inside an abandoned hospital.  For his part, the Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, explained that the IBT Company went bankrupt and stopped operations. He said that the work had been stopped for 10 years but now work is finally being resumed.  Since August 30, the president has been on a tour of the province of Chiriquí.
