Odebrecht Ordered to Pay $30 Million+ to Tocumen Airport

The Brazilian construction company Odebrecht has been ordered to pay more than $30 million to Tocumen Airport for the lawsuit involving Terminal 2.  The lawsuit was for lost profits and damages caused to the company Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen, SA (Aitsa) for the cancellation, in September 2022, of the contract for the construction of Terminal 2 of the airport.  The decision corresponds to the arbitration being held at the Panama Conciliation and Arbitration Center.  In CNO’s lawsuit, the court recognized costs for longer stay plus interest and VAT for the sum of $62,574.21 and advance payments and late payment interest for $1,884,913.43.
