JD Vance Accepts GOP Vice Presidential Nomination – Joe Biden Has Covid, Again.

JD Vance Accepts GOP Vice Presidential Nomination.  The Ohio senator stepped into the national spotlight and told his own Hillbilly Elegy story at the Republican National Convention in his first speech as former President Donald Trump’s running mate. He shared personal stories about growing up and meeting his wife. He also talked about Trump’s strength and resolve. The ex-Marine said the Republicans are “United to Win” and made a pitch to key battleground voters.  Republican Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance credited his “mamaw” for keeping him away from drugs while growing up in Middleton, Ohio, amid “closing factories and the growing eviction in towns like mine.”  “She loved the Lord, ladies and gentlemen,” Vance said of his grandmother. “She was a woman of very deep Christian faith, but she also loved the F word. I’m not kidding. She could make a sailor blush.”  “But as she once told me when she found out that I was spending too much time with a local kid who was known for dealing drugs: If I ever hung out with that kid again, she would run him over with her car. That’s true, and she said, ‘JD, no one will ever find out about it.'”

Here is a fun clip from last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYMIaEW35g0

Some of the evening highlights included Peter Navarro’s standing ovation, Gold Star families brought the crowd to tears, Donald Trump Jr. spoke about his father saying he has “the heart of a lion.” But it was his Trump Jr.’s daughter, pictured above, who stole the hearts of the RNC as she talked about her grandfather.  Trump’s granddaughter, did in fact, steal the spotlight.  Kai, 17, is the oldest granddaughter of the former president.  She is the daughter of Donald’s oldest son, Donald Jr., and Vanessa Trump.  She has frequently posted on social media about her golfing but has largely stayed out of politics until now, but last night she made a surprise speech about her grandfather. “To me, he’s just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking.  He’s very caring and loving.  I’m speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don’t often see.  The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know him for who he is. He truly wants the best for this country, and he will fight every single day to make America great again.

President Joe Biden at 81, tested positive for Covid-19 at a pivotal moment in the reelection campaign.  Democrats are coming to the belief that he is just too old and feeble to beat Trump in November, and handle the presidency for the next 4 years.  Donors have stopped writing donation checks to the party.  The attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump appeared to put public calls for Biden to step aside on pause. But they returned as Biden hit the campaign trail again this week. Just hours before the White House announced Biden’s Covid-19 diagnosis, California Rep. Adam Schiff, a Senate candidate and former House Intelligence chairman, became the most prominent elected Democrat to publicly call on the president to drop out of the race, along with at least 20 others.  U.S. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer advised President Joe Biden that it might be in the best interest of both the nation and the Democratic Party if he were to withdraw from his reelection bid.  Joes doesn’t want to leave, but he may be forced into it by a growing number of democratic lawmakers and senators.  A quote on CNN:  “A bullet couldn’t stop Trump. A virus just stopped Biden … The Democrats are coming apart. The Republicans are coming together.”
