Mireya was the first woman to assume the presidency of Panama (1999-2004). The photo is being shared by the former president of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, and taken on a “mission entrusted” by the elected president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino. The image was shared on social networks with the following message: “Three excellent and good political women loyal to their country and very brave in a mission entrusted by the elected president José Raúl Mulino in the Republic from Colombia. The photograph was taken on a private plane.
It was learned that Maricel, Marta and Mireya traveled together to the city of Cali to receive the presidential sash that Mulino will wear at the inauguration as president of Panama on July 1. The sash was made by Colombian tailor Luis Abel Delgado, who also handmade the sash that Mireya wore at her inauguration in 1999. Luis Abel has prepared this piece for leaders of his country, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. Making one can take between eight to 15 days of non-stop work. The artist has also created with his hands ornaments given to Popes Benedict XVI and Francis. Below is former Panamanian president Mireya Moscoso from 1999 wearing her presidential sash.
