Tocumen Will Handle More than 19 Million Passengers in 2024

This year, Panama’s Tocumen International Airport will handle more than 19 million passengers, exceeding the 17.8 million reported last year, said Raffoul Arab, manager of the air terminal. This is the objective that has been planned for the most important entry into the country.  In financial terms, this number of travelers will mean that the airport will exceed the $270 million in revenue achieved in 2023, according to the terminal manager.  The official pointed out that it is important to maintain the terminal expansion program in order to continue meeting the growing demand of travelers.  Carlos Conde, president of the Panama Airlines Association, indicated that the industry has already exceeded the levels of 2019, before the pandemic, and commented that by 2025 a growth of 19% is expected compared to data from 2019.  He indicated that it is necessary to improve internal connectivity, expand airspace and improve airport capacity.
