Panama’s City of Arts will be home to the National Ballet

The City of the Arts , a modern building that will house the different cultural expressions of the country and will be the home of the National Ballet , has an inauguration date for  January 24, according to the Minister of Culture, Giselle González.

“ The City of Arts has an opening date for January 24, for this great cultural megaproject where all the schools of arts, plastic arts, theater, dance, but, above all, the great home of the National Ballet will converge, ” the first time it has such an important refuge,” she said.

In addition, they will share space with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Choir Network, in a large center that, according to the minister, will be a cultural meeting point for the country.

Given the expectations of e citizens who observe that the works are still continuing at the Reina Torres de Araúz Museum, the minister indicated that there has been a significant delay of one year, but they hope to inaugurate the first room and all the landscaping in the first months of 2024. The delay is due to an issue related to centuries-old pipes that passed under the work, which caused a problem that took time to repair and increased the cost of the project.
