Wingo to offer $39 flights Panama-David

The ultra-low-cost airline, Wingo will begin to operate a domestic flight between Panama City and David, in the province of Chiriquí, from August 11.

The route that will depart from the Panama Pacifico International Airport to the Enrique Malek International Airport in David will cost $39 each way and will operate with two frequencies a week on Fridays and Sundays.

In a statement, the airline indicates that it seeks to strengthen its operation in the country from where it already offers seven international destinations: Barranquilla, Cartagena, Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali, in Colombia, as well as Havana, Cuba, and San José in Costa Rica.

“Panama has always been an important market for Wingo and that is why we are growing in this country, offering more connectivity alternatives for its inhabitants. Now we offer our first domestic operation to David which, added to the seven international routes, reflect the relevance of the Panamanian market in our business strategy,” said Jorge Jiménez, Commercial and Planning Director of Wingo.

Currently, Copa Airlines and Air Panama fly to David.

In a search to travel from August 11 to August 13, on the Air Panama website the rate ranges from $59.99 for the economy to $101.69 each way, with some upward variations depending on the days.

In the case of Copa Airlines, the rate varies from $69.35 each way in economy class and $199.95 in executive class.
