Five new Flu deaths raise total to 22
Five new deaths from influenza (4 type A and 1 type B) were confirmed on Tuesday by the Ministry of Health .
The new deaths increased the accumulated death toll in Panama to 22. They are 13 men and 9 women, in the age range between 4 and 82 years. None of the recently deceased had received the influenza vaccine.
Risk factors for death
90% of the deceased (20 of 22) had risk factors such as: diabetes, hypertension, obesity, obesity, pulmonary, renal, neurological, immunosuppression among other diseases. Of the 22 deceased, 18 were not vaccinated.
