A wannabe president living a fable
When the PRD presidential candidate gave, for the first time in years, an interview yesterday on Telemetro, those who could see it will have realized why he did not give them. It was not because he was waiting for the right moment, since there have been plenty of those, especially in recent months, when he was campaigning – and ridiculing, with dances and absurd testimonies – to be a candidate. The interview reflects ignorance of international affairs and a simplistic and distant vision of local problems. He lives a fable, not reality. For example, when addressing the issue of the problems of the Social Security Fund (CSS), he said that they will be solved with the money from the contract with the mining company, despite the fact that experts have reiterated that it will not be remotely enough. He stated that the dialogue for the CSS did not advance because of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which is equivalent to lying directly to our faces and with a cynicism that surpasses any reference we have to hypocrisy. And so, this gentleman wanted to sweeten the pill for us so that he can, with all the weight of his inability, inexperience, and absolute lack of common sense, sit down as the new ruler of Panama. The PRD had never been so wrong with a candidate. – LA PRENSA, Jun.21.
