Tropical wave #5 brings heavy rains, electrical storms

Tropical Wave #5 has arrived, in Panama and heavy rains and electrical storms are expected for much of today, without ruling out that floods, river floods, and landslides could occur.

From the early hours of Thursday, June 15, very heavy downpours were reported over some sectors of the capital city and its peripheries.

Pilar López, a forecaster at the Panama Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama, said the storm cells are moving over the metropolitan region and in the next few hours they are expected to reach West Panama and the province of Coclé.
