Manhunt  underway for four bank robbers

Police have mounted a massive search for four men who entered the Via Transistmica branch of  Banco Banistmo, stripping the security of his firearm and stealing an unspecified amount of money on Wednesday, May 24.

According to preliminary reports,  the four left the bank branch taking several bags of money.

The first investigations led to the discovery of a red sedan car that was abandoned in the neighborhood adjacent to the square where the bank is located and that is presumably related to the robbery.

As soon as the emergency call was given, the National Police launched a search operation and after a procedure carried out in the Pedregal sector very close to El Parador, a taxi was located, apprehending the people who were on board. However, at the moment there is no official statement from the authorities to confirm whether the vehicle and the people would be linked to the robbery.

The Primary Care Section of the Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office together with members of the Judicial Investigation Directorate of the National Police continue to carry out proceedings at the scene to gather evidence to help clarify the facts and find those responsible.
