4.9 quake felt in Panama capital
The Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama reported an earthquake of 4.9 degrees of magnitude at 9:12 pm, on Tuesday, May 2.
The preliminary report also indicates that the earthquake was located 46 kilometers from Tortí (Chepo), with a depth of 46 kilometers. The movement was felt in various parts of the capital.
On Monday, May 1, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was also reported by the Institute of Geosciences. The tremor occurred at 12:22 pm, and was located 36 kilometers from Santiago de Veraguas at a depth of 13 kilometers.
On Friday, April 28, the Institute confirmed the recording of an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 degrees 6 kilometers from the district of Arraiján, province of Panama West.
