Storm alerts herald transit to rainy season
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) announced Sunday that the prevention warning for rains and storms is maintained in some regions of the country until Tuesday, April 18.
The areas under a warning are Chiriquí, Darién, the Emberá Wounaan region, the mountains of the Ngäbe Buglé region, and the north of the province of Veraguas.
According to the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama (Imhpa), an appropriate atmospheric condition will be presented to continue generating moderate to heavy rains with possible electrical discharges in the East and part of the Western sector of the country.
According to the Imhpa report, these rains are part of the transition from the dry to the rainy season.
