Panama ships 55.7 tons of seized drugs to the US
Panamanian authorities sent on Tuesday to the United States, a shipment of 55.7 tons of drugs for incineration the result of seizure by security forces during different operational actions.
Juan Manuel Pino, Minister of Security, said that the decision to move the cocaine to the United States is to incinerate the drug that accumulates in the warehouses of the security forces to avoid the contamination caused every time the drug is burned to open sky. “We need to guarantee a healthy environment and this is a concrete action for the benefit of all”, he explained.
It is the second time that drugs have been sent to the US, to be destroyed. Pino explained that at this moment there is an inter-institutional team that goes with the load, who will attest to the destruction.
The minister affirmed that transporting the drug is free.
