Vice President Carrizo will head Panama team at  Lula inauguration

President Laurentino Cortizo has appointed the Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, José Gabriel Carrizo, to lead the Panamanian delegation at the inauguration ceremony of Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, President-elect of Brazil.

The inauguration of the Brazilian president is on Sunday, January 1, in the capital of that country, Brasilia.

In addition, it was reported that, as part of the Panamanian delegation at the highest level, Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney will also attend the official acts in Brasilia.

Carrizo returns to the country on Monday, January 2.

It will be the third time that leftist Lula da Silva has assumed the presidency of Brazil, amid heightened security after a failed bomb attack, according to AFP.

The international news agency estimates that the event hopes to bring together some 300,000 people in the capital of Brazil, where institutional protocol and popular celebration with musical performances will be combined.
