The $6 million  unanswered question for Panama’s mayor

The mayor of the capital city adopts a despotic attitude every time he is approached about the expenses incurred in the decorations and the Christmas parade that his administration organized. It has been almost $6 million of commune funds for which he does not want to answer, despite the fact that there are reasonable doubts about the high cost of these activities. Even the previous mayor questioned the exorbitant amount of money supposedly allocated to the celebration of Christmas. But, apart from the puerile and late-night tantrums of the official, the matter here is reduced to carrying out an investigation – after the complaint that he believed that nobody would present about these expenses – to clarify how each penny was spent. And it is that the mayor does nothing other than propose nonsense and nonsense, which he wants to materialize against all logic, even circumventing the law. The citizens of this district demand that everything be audited and thus know if the objectives of the contracts were met if what was paid was fair and if everything went where it should go. It is the least that the authorities owe us since the mayor believes that he does not have to answer to anyone. And in that he is wrong, as always. – LA PRENSA, Dec.14.
