More hospital beds enabled as the number infected with covid could triple

The director of the Social Security Fund, Enrique Lau Cortés,  and The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre announced Tuesday  a plan to enable more beds in hospitals so that “No Panamanian is left without due care.”

Sucre called on the population to wear a mask when they are indoors because the number of infected people could be triple those detected.

“Vaccination with respect to covid-19 has been a bit poor, the demand has not been what we expected and this will cause as a result that children are the ones who are being affected the most.”
