Survivors of mass poisoning close highway
Patients who survived massive poisoning with diethylene glycol 16 years ago closed the four lanes of the Transístmica highway, near the Hospital Complex of the Social Security Fund, Dr. Arnulfo Arias Madrid, in Panama City.
The tragedy took the lives of hundreds of Panamanians who ingested the poison through medications from the health entity.
Spokespersons for those affected indicated that several of the victims await compensation.
In addition, they assure that 322 people are still awaiting evaluation by the Public Ministry.
They hope that the increase that is made periodically to the life pension will materialize this year.
