Two highway deaths bring year’s total to 232

A cyclist who left his home in San Lorenzo, Chiriquí Sunday evening on an errand became Panama’s 232nd highway victim when he was run over by a car on the Inter-American highway. He died instantly.
Earlier a man was run over and killed in Chame, Panama Oeste province.
Nationwide, The National Directorate of Traffic Operations issued 4,916 tickets on the weekend, of these 1,536 were for speeding, 169 for proven drunkenness, 56 for alcoholic breath, and 306 for inadequate lights.
