Gorbachev’s funeral set for Saturday

AFP, MOSCOW -The funeral of the last Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, who died on Tuesday at the age of 91, will be held in Moscow on Saturday, reported Russian press agencies that quote his daughter and his foundation.

The ceremony will take place on September 3 in the Hall of Columns in Moscow and then Gorbachev will be buried in the prestigious Novodevichy cemetery, the Interfax agency reported, citing his daughter Irina. It is not clear if the funeral will be private or national since no Russian official has spoken on the subject.
