“Significant storms” alert through weekend
A warning of prevention and monitoring due to the displacement of tropical wave #6 was issued by the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc). The notice will be valid until June 13.
The transit of the wave, expected in the next 12 and 32 hours, could generate new periods of rain and significant storms in the provinces, regions and maritime sectors of the country, said the Hydrometeorology Directorate of the Electric Transmission Company, SA, (Etesa).
Etesa forecasts significant accumulations of rain per day that could reach between 30 millimeters to 80 millimeters or liters of water per square meter. In some mountainous areas and in maritime areas, these amounts could be higher, it warned.
