Model agent linked to Epstein hangs himself

Former French model agent Jean-Luc Brunel, accused of rape of minors over 15 years of age and sexual harassment in an open investigation in France for the “Epstein case”, has been found dead in prison, judicial sources reported  Saturday.

The Paris Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to EFE that an investigation has been opened to determine the causes of death. The investigations are in the hands of the Judicial Police.

Brunel was in La Santé prison in Paris and according to BFM TV, he hanged himself on Friday night.

He was suspected of raping, assaulting, and sexually harassing different victims, minors or adults, and also of having been in charge of the transportation and lodging of these young women taken to Jeffrey Epstein’s meetings.

The French Prosecutor’s Office opened its investigation in August 2019 to determine possible ramifications in the country of the so-called “Epstein case”. The American billionaire died that same month while he was in prison awaiting trial for various sexual offenses.

Brunel was the founder of several model agencies, such as Karin Models or MC2 Model, and the interrogations of several women in France had placed him as one of those responsible for finding girls for those parties, although his name was also cited by other testimonies in the United States.

The 76-year-old former agent was arrested in December 2020 at the Parisian Charles de Gaulle airport when he was about to take a flight to Senegal and was presented two days later before the investigating judge.
