Over 30 medical groups urge vaccination condemn anti-vaxers
More than 30 medical societies across Panama have issued a statement encouraging parents to get their children aged 5-9 years to get vaccinated against covid-19 and also asked the population to apply the booster vaccine from the age of 16 and invite health personnel, mainly doctors, to promote teaching work based on evidence and with the responsibility that the population needs.
The medical societies suggest that the main measure currently in place to prevent serious illness and death from Covid-19 is vaccination.
The members “categorically regret the unfortunate comments and communications of medical groups that, far from the basic principles of the scientific method and public health, create distrust and uncertainty among the population regarding vaccination.”
The latest estimates from the Cevaxin Research Center indicate that between 4,000 and 4,500 deaths from Covid-19 have been prevented in a year of vaccination in the country .
