97.3% of covid-19 deaths not fully vaccinated
Some 97.3% of patients who have died due to covid-19 did not have the full cycle of immunization reports the Health Ministry (Minsa).
The figures presented by the Minsa record the deaths from February 28, 2021 to February 4, 2022, with a total of 1,943 deaths.
It is detailed that of that amount, 1,890 had not received the complete vaccination scheme against the coronavirus.
It is highlighted that 53 of the deaths (2.7%) correspond to patients who did complete the vaccination cycle.
Hospitalizations
the Minsa reported that until Thursday, February 10, 88.8% of the patients in the ward did not have the complete vaccination schedule, while 11.2% had received the required doses.
In the Intensive Care Unit, it was reported that 94% of those admitted did not have the complete cycle of immunization.
Panama began the vaccination process in January 2021 and has now reached the stage of placing third doses and pediatric vaccination.
Since the pandemic arrived in the country in March 2020, Panama has accumulated 7,926 deaths for a fatality rate of 1.1%.
