Million dollar airport robbery suspect arrested
One of the suspects involved in the theft of more than one million dollars at the cargo terminal of the Tocumen International Airport was arrested on Friday, January 21.
The apprehension by the National Police was carried out through the “Emperor” operation, in conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office.
The robbery occurred on October 6, at the facilities of the DHL parcel transnational, located in the cargo terminal.
According to the Police, the suspect was arrested at dawn, in the El Ciruelito sector, in the district of Penonomé, in the province of Coclé.
The arrested suspect is also implicated in a violation, recorded last year after the robbery occurred at the air terminal.
According to the authorities, he has a robbery crime record for which he served 10 years in prison.
The more than a million dollars, in discard bills that would be sent to the United States to be destroyed, were in four bags.
