An undesirable earning more than the president
Erratic mayor of Panama earns more than the president
The recent comments of the mayor of the capital city are of a worrying tenor. To say that there is no law that requires him to justify his high transportation costs and that no one has demanded that he lower his income is to test the patience of his fellow citizens, since it reveals an absolute lack of common sense, so much so that one cannot help but wonder if this subject should continue to head the largest mayor’s office in the country.
Although he was elected in elections, pretending to behave like a monarch, without being accountable for the use of public funds or disposing of public funds destined for undeserved personal income that is almost double what the President of the Republic earns, is inadmissible. If we add his questionable personal actions, we have a complete undesirable at the head of the Municipality of Panama. His management, in addition to being opaque, is an abominable clumsiness, a failure in every sense of the word, as crazy as it is erratic, because, after two and a half years of administration, we still wonder what the plan is to improve a city full of problems. But every time we are more convinced that he is the living incarnation of “what nature does not give, Salamanca does not lend”.- LA PRENSA, Jan. 20.
