Martinelli trial judges will hear closing arguments November 8
The wiretapping retrial of former President Ricardo Martinelli ended after the defense abruptly suspended its presentation of evidence and witnesses on Monday, November 1. The retrial began on July 21.
In total, the defense presented 13 pieces of evidence, of which one was testimonial, another expert, and the rest documentary. Originally the defense group stated that it would present at least 40 pieces of evidence.
Both the Prosecutor’s Office and the plaintiffs finished their presentation of evidence last week. The Oral Trial Court ordered a recess on Monday until November 8.
The pleadings phase will begin on Monday, November 8 at 2:00 pm and both the defense, the Prosecutor’s Office and the plaintiffs will have one hour for their final presentations.
