Cortizo okays booster vaccine jab for 55s
President Laurentino Cortizo announced on Friday, October 1, that he will proceed to approve the recommendation to apply a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to all those over 55 years of age.
He said that the “vaccine experts” recommended the application of the booster dose for immunosuppressed people, health personnel and for all those over 55 years of age.
“My decision will be to approve that recommendation … Panama is going to go with that third dose for people over 55 years old,” he said on a tour of Arraiján.
On September 22, the Ministry of Health began applying a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to moderately and severely immunosuppressed patients in hospital.
