Long lines as over-16s seek vaccination
Young people in the metropolitan region of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) took advantage of the flexibility of the age requirements to get the Covid-19 vaccine in 16 vaccination centers enabled in circuits 8-7 and 8-8
Israel Cedeño, director of the metropolitan region, reported yesterday that the vaccination days in circuits 8-7 and 8-8 have been carried out in complete order, but they did observe a large influx of young people in the last three days.
Cedeño acknowledged that this large concentration of people has caused long lines, which can cause discomfort, but asked everyone for a little patience, since more than a million vaccines were received this week and there will be enough for everyone.
He also explained that the people who arrive to be inoculated and are not registered for some reason, the team of the Government Innovation Authority (AIG) in the vaccination centers is collaborating and entering them into the system to obtain their appointments.
According to Cedeño, the vaccine “is not denied to anyone”, but stressed that registration for the registry is important.
Figures from the metropolitan region show that in the first two days of vaccination in the authorized centers of circuits 8-7 and 8-8, more than 42,000 doses of Pfizer were applied to people aged 16 years and over with the sweep method and 12 to 15 years with chronic diseases.
