Supermodel  Naomi Campbell a mother at 50

AFP – British supermodel Naomi Campbell made a surprise announcement Tuesday that she became the mother of a baby girl.

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother,” Campbell, 50, wrote on her Instagram account, accompanying a photograph of her hand cradling a tiny pair of baby feet.

“It is an honor to have this gentle soul in my life,” she continued. “There are no words to describe the bond for life that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love”.

Campbell, who currently resides in New York, did not elaborate on the event.

One of the most iconic supermodels of the 1990s had previously talked about becoming a mother. “I think about having children all the time,” she told the Evening Standard magazine in 2017.

However, she added, “as science goes, I think I can do it whenever I want.”

Campbell still poses for magazine covers, an activity that alternates with charity work and NGO work, particularly in Africa, as well as appearances on reality shows.

In 2019, when asked about children by WSJ magazine, she replied, “Not yet, I’ll see what the universe brings me.”
