Chile has moved to quarantine all travelers  as the country surpassed 7,000 daily cases of Covid-19 for the first on Saturday since the start of the pandemic.

The Chilean Ministry of Health reported 7,084 new cases in the last 24 hours, reaching 925,089 infections since the first infection was confirmed on March 3 of last year. The previous highest figure was 6,983 cases, registered on June 14, in the middle of the first wave.
