Pandemic recall nurses pay problems
About 400 nurses recalled to frontline duty in the pandemic have not received payment for 5 fortnights according to the president of the Panama Nurses Association (ANEP) Ana Reyes, among them, there are about 200 who were hired at the end of December and many others who were rehired after their contracts ended and, the latter are experiencing misfortune for the second time.
Reyes explained that they are waiting for the payment to be made to the affected personnel on March 15, although she indicated that some made inquiries in the human resources unit of the institutions where they work and have been informed that they are not on the payroll.
She clarified that the delay in payment is occurring with the personnel hired by the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
