Second dose of covid vaccine available to all

Eduardo Ortega, advisor to the Covid-19 Panama Vaccine Research Consortium, reports that the second dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus “will be applied to

In Panama, only one dose will not be applied, said Ortega, who is also the national secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation.

“We know that maximum efficacy is achieved through the second dose,” Ortega stressed, in statements to TVN Noticias .

The second batch of vaccines will arrive in Panama on Wednesday, February 17, and the distribution and application of the vaccines will begin immediately, according to the phases and stages established by the authorities.

Ortega  explained that, although data from Israel indicate that the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 provides protection, in “Panama two doses will be applied.”
