New covid-19 cases fall 30.3 %

New cases of Covid-19 fell by 30.3% during the epidemiological week that ended last Saturday, compared to the previous week.

Epidemiology reports show that between January 17 and 23, 13,582 new infections were reported, and the previous week, 19,497.

The indicator is encouraging, however, the number of hospitalized and dead remains high.

Arturo Rebollón, an epidemiologist and public health specialist, said that the transmission of the new coronavirus in Panama is in the process of stabilization.

He said hat the country is on a better path, but it still has many active, hospitalized and deceased cases.
